Bondi Chai - How far will you go?

Bondi Chai latte is rapidly spreading throughout Australia and overseas but unfortunately not every cafe and deli has realised yet that they "Just have to sell it". For some of you a quick trip to your local cafe or delicatessen will allow you to get your much cherished supply of Bondi Chai latte. But spare a thougth for those who have to travel a lot further - such as this Bondi Chai addict from Victoria. She writes:

I must have had my head in the sand. Over last weekend I was part of the Echuca Coastguard Team exhibit at the Shepparton Expo and went for refreshments at the cappuccino stand. Well, I went for the Chai, with other orders for the team, came back, they had a sniff of the beautiful aroma and I was sent back for "ONE OF THOSE PLEASE"!We were topping up on these delicious Chai refreshments the whole weekend. It got the better of me and I just had to ask what brand was it? and the most helpful caterer informed me it was BONDI CHAI! I'M HOOKED! I am planning to take a trip to Shepparton, 130k round trip, and get my supply.

If, like our fellow Bondi Chai latte lover above, you have to travel a long way to get your hands on your next pack of Bondi Chai blog us and let us know where you are - we will do our best to get some stocked locally for you.

Bondi Chai - in the news

As more and more people discover the amazing taste of Bondi Chai we are finding our way into the Food News in all sorts of places. Here is a link to one such article
http://www.foodmag.com.au/Article/Bondi-chai-latte-wins-gold-in-Hobart/234284.aspx

What does the Disco Queen and the Princess of Denmark have in common?

Want to know why Chai Latte is take off in Australia? Read on...

It's taking off because...

People like Madonna are quoted in an interview in the current edition of one of Australia's most popular magazines as saying: "I'm on chai latte now. I'm off coffee because I'm on homeopathics for my eight broken bones."

It's taking off because...

The Gilmour Girls - for reasons which escape me, one of Australia's most popular TV shows - now order - you guessed it - chai lattes at their favourite coffee shop...

It's taking off because...

Will Smith goes out to fetch his would-be lover a morning drink in the movie Hitch (if you haven't seen it - go out and hire it!) and brings back coffee, tea "and somethin' with chai in the name"...

It's taking off because...

Australia's own princess, HRH Princess Mary of Denmark, is a Bondi Chai Latte fan and took some home with her from Australia when last she was in here.

It's taking off because...

Nicole Kidman and husband Keith tried Bondi Chai at the Aroma Festival in Sydney and loved it!

It's taking off because...

Ricky Lee took home a pack of Bondi Chai from the Royal Easter Show in Sydney.

It's taking off because all the 'right people' are drinking and talking about it.

Maybe it's time you tried it too!

See you out there on the river...
